ASSEMBLY OF WINDOWS AND DOORS PVC: INSTRUCTION MANUAL:

The process of assemblying joinery is connecting the construction to the building. This connection provides what follows:

• Transfers the load of this construction to the building
• Makes settlement joints possible (mutual deformations of construction and building)
• Enables you to make an air and water sealing
• Assures the correct thermal and acoustic insulation

ACTIONS DURING THE ASSEMBLY:

1. Check the windows on the quality and size compatibility,

2. Match the windows suitably to the openings,

3. Check window sizes relatively to the opening in a wall,

4. Check the type of hardware, the direction and the way of opening a sash.

5. Unpack assembly elements,

6. Dismantle sashes pulling out the upper hinge pin (with the sash closed). The complete knocking out of the pin is inadmissible because the whole hinge is broken and has to be changed. The lower hinge in opened and half opened sashes doesn't need dismantling (picking up the sash will be enough).

7. It is advisable to assembly windows on a bar under a window,

8. Fasten additional profiles to the frame (e.g. widening and linkers).

9. Set the frame on bearing blocks and immobilize it with wedges. Check the setting of frame with a water level .Slot size between the frame and wide should be from 15 to 30 mm.

Bearing blocks should be spaced well because profiles will deform by the temperature. Wedges that were once used to set the window in a hole should be removed, but you mustn't remove the bearing blocks. The location of the bearing blocks is shown below (Pic.1):

10. Put the frame permanently in a wall using anchors.

                                    Pic. 2                       Pic. 3

We put anchors to the lower part of the frame (on the whole circuit) by trapping them in a profile's catches. It is advisable to put an additional attachment of the anchor with the profile to the frame with screws. (Pic. 2). You have to assembly the anchors to the frame before putting it to the hole.Anchors shouldn't be fastened on the exterior part. Dowels are fastened directly to the ground (Pic.3)You have to drill the dowel holes after setting the frame in the wall, and then screw the dowels in.

The method of setting the PVC windows fastening points is shown in picture 4:

Pic. 4

A – maximum space between the fastening points - max.700 mm,
B – space between the step's fastening points- max 700 mm,
E - space from an internal corner of the frame- min. 150 mm,
P – space from a pistil corner- min. 150 mm.

Front doors (one- and two-sash) should be fastened only with dowels because not only do they weigh a lot but they are also used too often. This way of fastening will secure long lasting effect. We should assembly doors in the same way as the windows remembering about bearing blocks and correct fastening points setting. We should also remember about the additional fastening ( hinges and handles or knobs)

Fastening in the lower part should be accomplished accordingly to Pic. 6.

11. Fasten the frame assemblying anchors to the ground

12. Put on the sashes and adjust if necessary..

13. Fill in the spaces between the frame and the wall using mounting foam. Remember to moisten the ground with water before. Do not open the sashes until the foam permanently toughtens.ą.

14. After the foam dries disassemble wedges and fill in the complementary holes with the foam.

15. Remove the excess of the foam and plaster the spaces around the window.

16. It is advisable to assembly exterior window sills to the strip under the window; if it is impossible you should put the back of the window sill under the frame.

17. Remove the protective foil of the windows after the plaster dries.

ASSEMBLY OF ALUMINIUM DOORS: INSTRUCTION MANUAL:

Doors made of aluminium sections with thermal spacers are mounted with dowels ( Ø 8-10mm)to the interior chamber of the section (Pic. 7). Remaining actions similar to the previous- PVC. The setting of the assemblying points similar to PVC doors (Pic.5).
